It is in prayer that, as Christians, we find great comfort and forgiveness.

To help you to pray:
Let peace surround you as you sit quietly. Let the hurry and worry of your life fall away from you. You are God's child. God loves you and cares for you. God is here with you now - and always. Speak to God slowly and thoughtfully - give yourself time for God to bring things to mind.

Trust in God
God of ancient calm, let your peace still us,
God of fearful storm, fill us with your awe
God of lonely plains, touch the empty spaces within us
Where we are vulnerable enough to meet you.
Amen

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
Amen

The Nicene Creed
(a statement of faith dating back to the 5th century A.D.)
We believe in one God The Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible:
and in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, light of light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made:
Who, for us, and our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary, and was made man, and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried, and the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father. And He shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead, whose Kingdom shall have no end.
And we believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and giver of life, who proceedeth from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spake by the prophets.
And we believe one holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.

We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins.  And we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
Amen

The Bible: John’s Gospel, Chapter 3, Verse 16
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that all who believe in Him would not die, but have eternal life."
